MacKenzie Carlson – High School Graduation
My one and only daughter, MacKenzie Carlson, graduated from Maple Mountain H.S. on 23 May 2013 with High Honors and a 3.8 GPA. MacKenzie’s High School graduation commencement ceremony was held at Utah Valley University at 6:00 pm.
Her favorite subjects in high school were math and history. Her best friends throughout high school were Kelsey, Ashley, Megan, and Paige.
Future Plans
At this time, she plans to attend Utah Valley University this coming fall to study elementary education and eventually become a teacher. I believe the teaching profession is one of the noblest of all professions and so I fully support her in this endeavor. I know she will make a great teacher which will help her become an admirable mother someday.
After the ceremony, Jill and I took MacKenzie to Carrabba’s Italian Grill for dinner. We were accompanied by LaVerne, Doug, Erin, Nash, Sawyer, Wesley, Kensie, Brooklyn, and Cameron. The food was favorable, and we enjoyed each other’s company.
Reflections and Hopes
I named her MacKenzie and call her Mac because I know that one day, some boy will come along and have a “Big Mac” attack. MacKenzie has been and is an ideal daughter! She has never caused me any trouble or anxiety. On the other hand, I don’t feel I have the kind of relationship with Mac as I would like to; her being my only daughter. However, maybe as she gets older and more experienced with life, we will develop a closer relationship than we have now… That is my hope and desire.
Jill and MacKenzie have a great relationship, as she also does with her four older brothers: Steven, Doug, James, and Wesley. This is very gratifying to me. Furthermore, I wish her the best of luck in all of her endeavors and a long, prosperous, happy life!
