Big Mac Attack
I named her MacKenzie because I liked the name. I called her Mac because I knew that someday “some guy” would come along and have a “Big Mac” attack. That day has finally come, MacKenzie Carlson – Wedding Day. In addition, I am so proud and happy for her and “her guy.”
Mac’s Wedding
Kaden Kuhni (19) of Mapleton, Utah, and MacKenzie Carlson (19) of Spanish Fork, Utah were united for time and eternity in the Salt Lake Temple today – December 30, 2014, at 2:40 p.m. It was a cold and blustery day, but spirits were high, and everyone was excited for Kaden and MacKenzie. The marriage and sealing were performed by Elder Pinegar in Room 11.
Being at the Salt Lake Temple brought back many related cherished memories. As a matter of fact, I remember going there while a missionary at the old mission home, which was located across the street where the new conference center is, but it has since been torn down. Furthermore, I remember when Jill and I were married and sealed there on August 7, 1981. Also, I remember being with my son Doug when he and Erin were married and sealed there on August 26, 2006.
After the ceremony, Jill and I stopped for a quick lunch at Apollo Burger. After that, we then proceeded to Orem for the wedding dinner… that’s right; we were starving!
Wedding Dinner and Reception
There was an excellent turnout for the wedding dinner and reception. This event was held at the Sleepy Ridge Golf Course, and the food was satisfying and delicious. We started off with a Caesars salad for the appetizer. The entree consisted of pan-seared pork tenderloin with Pommery mustard and wild mushroom sauce with a side of fresh green beans with a dinner roll. Equally important, for dessert, we were served a Ghirardelli chocolate brownie with ice cream and hot fudge sauce.
The event was highlighted by a tribute to Kaden and MacKenzie by Jill (those interested can read Jill’s tribute here), her brothers, and Kaden’s father. After the dinner, Kaden and MacKenzie traveled to Midway for their honeymoon.
Fond Memories
In addition, MacKenzie has been a great blessing to this family, and I have enjoyed watching her grow up; I have many fond memories of her. MacKenzie has been and is an ideal daughter and has never caused Jill or me any problems. Even more important, she has a strong testimony of the Gospel. Moreover, I do believe married the right person in the right place at the right time.
Best Wishes
Kaden and MacKenzie will both be attending the University of Utah together beginning January 5th, 2015. Kaden is majoring in accounting and pre-med while MacKenzie is majoring in elementary education. Furthermore, they are both excellent students and will go far in their educational endeavors.
I know Kaden will be a supporting and loving husband to MacKenzie. Also, he will also be a good provider to her and their children. Moreover, Jill and I wish them the best of luck and continued success to include long, happy, and healthy lives in their new journey together!
Thanks
In closing, I want MacKenzie to know that I love her very much, as I do all my children and grandchildren, and to know how proud I am of her. Also, I want to thank my wife, Jill, because she has made all of this possible… I love and appreciate her–more than she will ever know–and I always will!
