Lunch in the Clouds at Bearclaw Cabin was a fun and memorable outing. I shared this experience with my wife Jill, son Wesley and his wife Kensie, and daughter MacKenzie and her husband Kaden.
We met at the Sundance Mountain Resort at about 12:30 p.m. and rode the chair lifts up to the top of the resort to Bearclaw Cabin for lunch. The scenery on the way up was spectacular! The autumn leaves were turning into their various colors and the awe-inspiring mountain settings were overwhelming.
We thought we would get a great view of the surrounding area and Provo Canyon. However, as we traveled up and up, above the frost line into the clouds, the visibility got worse as did the weather. The clouds had settled in, surrounding the area, and so we had a very limited view.
Fortunately, we had some good hot food for lunch, at Bearclaw cabin, to help warm us up. All the carbs we consumed warmed us up for the trip back down the mountain. This was important because not only was it chilly going up, it was even colder going down; especially for what I was wearing!
All in all, we had a fun afternoon outing. I hadn’t been to the Sundance Mountain Resort since having dinner there, with my mother-in-law when we celebrated LaVerne’s ninety-sixth birthday, a few years ago.
There a myriad of memories I have at Sundance. Some of these memories include skiing (during my younger years), horseback riding, hiking to Stuart Falls, etc. I will have to make an effort to visit there more often because I love it there!
