It’s a Boy and Number Eleven!
Jill and I ardently welcome Kai Jeffrey Carlson into our family. We also wish Kai the best of health, happiness, and good fortune throughout his life. He is a beautiful baby boy weighing in at 8 pounds 14 ounces and measuring 20 inches in length. Baby and mother are doing fine!
He was born on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at 10:15 a.m. at Intermountain Health Care Regional Hospital located in Provo, Utah. Kai is the third son and fourth child of my second son Doug and his wife, Erin. Kai is our eleventh grandchild and seventh grandson.
Advice and Hopes
At this time Kai Jeffrey Carlson, I want to give you some advice; probably more for me than for you. Also, these words of advice are my hopes for you; words of wisdom that I have learned firsthand throughout my life and am still working on daily to master.
Always remember that you are a treasured gift from our Heavenly Father to your family, and to all those you will come in contact with. This knowledge is essential to know and understand; particularly when doubt and discouragement creep into your life as they surely will at times.
Learn to love to read and read as much as you can. Good books are an incredible wellspring of wisdom, inspiration, and pleasure. Books also help you to better understand and more fully appreciate the world you live in.
Try to be consistently truthful! People expect the truth so always give it to them with grace and kindness.
Whenever possible, hug the people you love and tell them you love them. Don’t wait until it’s too late to tell them how you feel and never tell anyone you love them when you don’t.
Finally, never yell at others; it never works. Every time I yell at someone, I invariably fail to get my intended message across. Yelling only hurts yourself and the person you are yelling at and also those in the immediate vicinity. Good luck and Godspeed!
