Isn’t She Lovely
An old pal came across my website and shot me an email a few weeks ago. He said, “I like reading your content, but your photos “suck!” If you’re going to put that much time and effort into a journal, I would suggest you invest in a real camera and take some photography classes.” Jim always calls it the way he sees it. After considering his recommendations for a few days, I decided he was right!
Nikon D3300
I spent about two days doing research on the best camera to start learning how to take photographs and finally decided on the Nikon D3300. I watched all the YouTube videos I could find about how the camera works, and I also watched videos on tips about how to take better photographs.
My initial experience with the new camera was at the first birthday party for Aliya; it didn’t quite go as I had planned. Hopefully, with more practice, there will be some measured improvement in the quality of my photos over time. There you go, Jim!
Family
The entire family, except Wesley who had to work, attended Aliya’s first birthday party. Her birthday was actually on the 2nd, but the party was held on the 5th to accommodate everyone’s schedule. Erin’s parents, Jeff, and Janine were also there along with their son–and my friend–Landon.
Aliya seemed to have a gratifying time as did everyone else who was there and I have posted some pictures below in gallery/slideshow format to remember the event. My apologies to those I left out… the pics didn’t all turn out as planned.
