Pioneer Day – State of Utah
Pioneer Day is an official holiday celebrated on July 24 in the State of Utah. Other regions in surrounding states also celebrate it each year on this date. Pioneer Day celebrates the entry of Brigham Young into the Salt Lake Valley on July 24, 1847; to include a group of Mormon pioneers. The celebration of Pioneer Day includes parades, rodeos, fireworks, and other festivities.
Pioneer Day – Spanish Fork
Spanish Fork celebrates Pioneer Day with a parade, rodeo, carnival, concerts, and a car show, etc. I have been going to the parade and rodeo for most of my life but have limited these activities in the last few years because it seems I don’t know anyone anymore… Spanish Fork is growing so fast, and there are getting to be too many people for my comfort level.
Pioneer Day – Family Picture
Jill’s side of the family gets together, every Pioneer Day after the parade, at LaVerne’s house to eat lunch. Abbey, Jeff Higginson’s wife, took this family pic on Pioneer Day of my family. That’s right… I’m push’n just about 300 lbs! I have got to start doing something about my weight beginning tomorrow! 🙁
