What a hectic and eventful week; albeit memorable and very satisfying! Even though this post is primarily about the name and blessing of Beverly Carlson, I’ve combined it with two other family events.
Birthdays – Mac and Sawyer
On Friday evening, the family gathered at my son Doug’s home to celebrate the birthdays of my grandson Sawyer and my daughter MacKenzie. Both are on the same day, June 3rd. Sawyer turned four years old, and Mac turned 21 years old; she’s finally legal! (Photos of Sawyer’s birthday party included in the gallery below.)
Beverly Carlson – Name and Blessing
Sunday morning in Fast and Testimony meeting, Beverly Markell Carlson was given her name and a blessing by her father, Wesley Palmer Carlson. He gave her a beautiful blessing and did a great job. Wesley is my fourth oldest child and fourth son. This memorable event was very well supported by both sides of the family. Kensie, the mother of Beverly, gave an inspiring and heartfelt testimony.
Beverly is my fourth granddaughter and the ninth grandchild. Jill and I enthusiastically welcome her into our family and wish her all the success and happiness in life that may be hers. I look forward to watching her grow up–as I do all my children and grandchildren–and hope to share in many of her successes and challenges in life!
After church, both sides of the family met at the Somerset Village Pavilion for brunch and socializing. Kenzie and Wesley put on a pretty good spread! (Photos of the brunch included in the gallery below.)
Birthday Party – Grandma C
Sunday evening, my side of the family celebrated my mother’s 78th birthday at her home. Virginia’s birthday is on June 6th; the same day as my father, Duane, who is now deceased. Helen and her family attended, Mitch and his family attended, Heidi and her family attended–as well as many other members of our extended family.
