Preserving the past for future generations–more specifically my progeny–is the primary goal of this website and of my online journal.
Welcome! The articles, videos, reviews, etc. on this website are a result of my journey through this beautiful thing called life. It is my hope to leave a record of my ancestors and family and to share a little about my life and times. It has been said that when we find and learn about the lives of our ancestors, we find ourselves.
My online journal commenced on December 21, 2012. My resolution to begin and maintain an active journal is due to of my inability to remember innumerable and valuable “lessons” gleaned throughout my life. I now comprehend the importance these recollections may contribute to gain a clearer perspective of life’s present realities. Consequently, I deeply regret not having recorded those experiences in some fashion for that purpose as well as many others. Oh, how I wish my ancestors had done the same for their posterity in one form or another.
Accordingly, I initiate this undertaking with the following desire. It is my hope that by sharing my life’s journey, I may influence others in a way that may be positively beneficial in some small measure. This sentiment is especially applicable to my posterity which is also another primary purpose of this e-journal endeavor.
In addition, during my college years, I took a genealogy course. During that course, I discovered that “mysterious magnetic force” which accompanies this work and robs me of my sleep.
Since that time, I have always been interested in and worked on my genealogy. However, I have felt compelled, as of late, to use the current technology and the Internet to make this information more readily available to others with interest in this work; specifically my immediate and extended family members.
As a result of this endeavor, my mother designated me as the “family historian”. Furthermore, I understand the importance to care for and safe-keep the genealogical records that my mother has collected and added to over her lifetime and to do my best in disseminating, improving, and expanding on them as much as possible over my lifetime.
